What a great day of flying this was, over in the Badlands of Alberta with a couple flying buddies. Royal Stewart and I had been looking forward to this day for a few years....when we'd both be in the same airspace in our cubs. We flew east from Stewart Airpark to explore the Alberta Badlands and had some fun following the glassy calm, Red Deer River.
Air Adventure Flight School is located just north of Drayton Valley Alberta. Their training focus is on Ultra light trikes and paragliding but also do Paramotor training. The Air Adventure facility is no doubt one of the best in Canada and has been in operation for just over a year. I loved the place and plan on returning next year for some training and para-camping!! I try to take some good shots and handle some good control. Lots of fun!
We depart Lethbridge, Alberta, and follow the VFR route in our Cessna 182 through the Rockies. We fly to Pincher Creek, then navigate the Crowsnest Pass, passing Crowsnest Mountain, Sparwood and Cranbrook along the way. After landing at Creston, British Columbia, we return, passing over Frank Slide.
A perfect Thursday morning for flying. From Westlock to Boyle Airport where I landed to be greeted by the local Husky, a very quiet place to land. Took the long way home flying South of Athabasca and followed HWY 2 back to Westlock at 4000ft. I created this video with the help of YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)
